<<In ancient traditional medicine, the black bile is associated with the melancholic temperament that falls under the rule of Saturn.
The introspection and isolation that characterize the melancholic temperament can lead to two opposite destinies: one aimed at a higher and reintegrated vision and consciousness of reality represented by the aspect of Saturn as regent of the golden age, the other leading instead into the bestial and destructive fury, prisoner of matter represented by the aspect of Saturn devourer of forms. From these assumptions we can understand the need for a control on black bile so that the ancient alchemical adage that suggests making medicine from poison can be realized.>>
